Over the course of 8 weeks, 8 German and Dutch students worked intensively on a lifecycle program for bellanet. Specifically, they were looking for ways to give microfibre cloths another meaningful use after their life cycle. So far, the only option has been thermal utilisation, which is often used as a euphemism for waste incineration.
The diversity of disciplines that the students brought together in this Smart Lab was crucial for finding ideas for sustainable alternatives. Among other things, the students analysed the logistical and financial possibilities.
