First Tech Garage at Smart Solution Labs

50 students from three universities and company representatives from the border region gathered information on the topic of artificial intelligence at Tobis Software in Ahaus. And the networking and co-creation event was a hit, as CHAT GPT confirms:

“Hey Chat GPT, write me a concise summary about an instructive day organised by the Smart Solution Labs team at #Tobit Software in #Ahaus”:

“Wat een buitengewoon inspirerende dag van het Smart Solution Labs project bij Tobit Software in Ahaus!”

Prof Markus Schwering from FH Münster and Dieter van Acken from Tobit Software welcomed the guests. Renate Warmers from WFG Borken presented the “Smart Solution Labs” project, which is all about innovation from the region for the region.

“From Science to Business” – from the minds of the students to the business world – was the motto afterwards: the first team of students presented their results from the successfully completed eight-week research and development sprint in collaboration with the company High Tech Maintenance (HTM) Nederland. Here it became clear that success is not only based on innovative ideas, but also on the ability to communicate in different languages and build bridges between different languages and cultures.

The keynote speech on artificial intelligence by Prof Jürgen te Vrugt from FH Münster was very inspiring, providing not only informative insights but also food for thought for the future. In the pitch round, participating companies presented promising projects for the upcoming Smart Solution Labs from March 2024. Thanks to bellanet, Nijdeken and hyCLEANER GmbH & Co. KG for the exciting challenges. Finally, all participants experienced an impression of the real laboratory in digitalisation and our “Smart City Future” during the Inspiration Tour.
